The Sun makes its movement through Aquarius every year from around January 20th through around February 18th.
By focusing on key energies of Aquarius during the time of the Sun’s transit, we can better use the energetic potentials available to us.
One such keyword for Aquarius is OBJECTIVITY. By focusing on instilling objectivity at this time of year we can deepen the practice with life-changing results.
Here are 3 powerful principles for applying objectivity during this time of the year and beyond:
~ Asking“Is it even true?”
This is a life-changing question that Byron Katie encourages us to ask in “The Work”, a powerful self-healing and development tool she created. I love this question for applying objectivity. Byron Katie suggests that with anything that we feel upset about or feel is ‘happening to us’ we ask ourselves, “Is it even true?”.
She reminds us that most of the things we lament about are not even true. Also, asking this question moves us along a continuum of applying this same question to all the answers we get from the question. This process of self-inquiry can produce powerful results and is something that is especially relevant as Aquarian energies dominate.

~ Recognizing “Reflections & Projections” ~
Self-healing and Development Leader Michael Brown talks at length in his book The Presence Process about “Reflections” & “Projections”. He defines Reflections as the occurrence of an experience that reminds us of something we have experienced before, and Projections as the behavior we adopt when experiencing such a memory.
He further explains that when we stop the unproductive of drama, shame, blame, and guilt by “dismissing the messengers” that seem to upset us, we can go inward and have true healing at a core level and change our negative patterning. He says that “upsets are setups” to show us areas that need integration from our childhood.
When we get upset, instead of engaging in drama with the person or situation that seems to be the cause, we can instead disengage (aka dismiss the messenger) and ask ourselves the question, “How does this situation effect me on the level of felt-perception?” So he is suggesting that instead of doing we get more back to feeling and specifically where energy patterns are presenting as incoherence in the body, not the mental way of feeling through thinking or talking about feeling.
In The Presence Process he teaches us how to translate challenging adult experiences into the language of child-speak that the issue was originally imprinted in. I LOVE the practices taught in this book in general but especially as a way to step out of REACTION and into OBJECTIVITY.
~ 85% of the things we worry about don’t even happen ~
Five hundred years ago, Michel de Montaigne said: “My life has been filled with terrible misfortune; most of which never happened.” We have heard variations of this objective viewpoint over time. Now there is official research to prove it (you can check out more details here).
Choose now, when there is so much support for objectivity, as the time to shift from the addiction of worrying to that of trust. Here is an affirmation that I created for myself to repeat when worry enters my mind to help you make the shift …
“I surrender this situation to the Universe (or sub whatever word you use, “God”, “Infinite Spirit”, etc.) to be worked out in ways better than I can imagine or plan” 🙂
I hope you this month helps you bring more calm objectivity into your life
