Libra – December 2022

The Sun brightens your 3rd house of mobility this month bringing a whirlwind of activity.  Keeping balance may be a bit tougher this month as your list of activities, events, and other projects builds.

The 3rd house rules travel so you may find yourself on the road more than usual or catching a plane, boat, train, or bus to adventures, obligations, or both. You also may find yourself not traveling but planning a future trip.

The Sun in this placement brings focus to your communication sector so you may find you are chatting it up more than usual and that opportunities for social (online and in-person) abound.  This transit definitely brings an increase in likelihood of a very fun and busy social calendar, which even if it isn’t ‘in person’ events, could take place through online gatherings or other virtual connections. Reconnecting with old friends, relatives, and acquaintances, or making new friends, are all more likely at this time.

Also, opportunities to improve your personal communication style to be more effective and productive could come up in a big way.  Any books, classes, or other resources on improving communication to create win-wins is very favorable now. 

The area lit up for you know also rules information: the taking in of it and the sharing of it. Anything notable in these areas are fair game to be brought into the forefront. Education and research projects are well-supported at this time.

Writing, editing, publishing, or other projects involving sharing information may come into focus now.  It is amazing time for editing, reworking, finishing projects already in process.

Your communication devices, transportation equipment (cars, bikes, etc.), and other electronics are more likely to be on the fritz at this time. If you really have to buy a new one, just research the product carefully and read the fine print. Getting insurance or extra warranties may be extra supportive at this time (also read these agreements carefully).

Things involving siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles (basically relatives that aren’t your parents or kids) may come into focus now from this transit. Don’t be surprised to have some notable contact from one of these relatives and if you have the urge to check in with one or more of them, following that urge may prove quite timely.  

The Sun’s transit here can show us things that have to be adjusted in a certain sector of life but alternatively can show us things that are great in that area and can bring wonderful opportunities.   

December 2022 brings us to the end of the “eclipse season” that began in September.  The heat of the season was really cooking in October and November with major news and events from the Taurus/Scorpio eclipses. The “Me/We” and “My stuff/Our stuff” polarities have been supercharged from these eclipses. Big news and changes to finances and relationships are increased for all signs. See my Youtube horoscopes (or syndicated podcast, Astro Kisses with Annie Botticelli) for October and November 2022 to see additional sign-specific manifestations and the eclipse themes discussed in general and for each sign for October and November will likely echo out through December, as well. While some big events could still roll in, this month will mostly shift us out of the eclipse drama phase and into the integration phase. The non-negotiable endings, exciting new beginnings, profound spiritual transformation, and surprising trajectory shifts that occurred in the previous weeks/months will start to take better shape now.

The tides are still strongly flowing inward and backward as Mars is still in retrograde. Dealing with things that come in to you on the tides, clearing up unfinished business, editing or revising, and leaving space for last minute magic. Look out for sudden surprise opportunities ( I like to call this “Last-Minute Magic”) that tend to arise during the retro times. 

Mercury will also go retrograde again in December bringing lots of changes to schedules and plans. Writing plans in pencil instead of pen and leaving flexibility in your commitments this month will bring greater ease, especially from December 12 onward. Being the spider and letting things come to you instead of stretching too far to find them will help you to better focus on giving attention to what shows up. It may not be the best time for planning things in the short or long term but it is great for being present for opportunities that come in suddenly and being present with what needs your attention rather than conjuring projects. It is also an excellent time for research, education, and vision boarding.

Sagittarius energies dominate the first 3 weeks of December. Fun, frolic, and festivities abound as the spiral whirlwind of Sagittarius brings fresh busy-ness and options. Topics like writing, publishing, travel, languages and cultures, international business and immigration are all more likely to take front and center. Buoyancy, hope and enthusiasm get a boost with the Sagittarius placements and the moving direct of its ruler, Jupiter, very recently on November 23. This direct movement will bring life back into many  projects that started to wilt in July.

Mars in Gemini brings fun relief in your busy schedule and just enough distraction for you to return refreshed to your list of things to do. If you are a writer or are otherwise creating spoken, written, or other crafts, you will be highly creative and soar through your projects. Working in short spurts might help you to be the most productive.

Capricorn energies start to solidify later in the month and ground out the spiraling frenzy of the previous weeks. It is a great time to get organized, mop up messes made by the recent activities. Things involving discipline and structure will be easier to muster towards the end of the month and these productive energies continue through most of January 2023.
