Leo – October 2021

The Sun brightens your 3rd house of mobility this month bringing a whirlwind of activity.  Keeping balance may be a bit tougher this month as your list of activities, events, and other projects builds.

The 3rd house rules travel so you may find yourself on the road more than usual or catching a plane, boat, train, or bus to adventures, obligations, or both. You also may find yourself not traveling but planning a future trip.

The Sun in this placement brings focus to your communication sector so you may find you are chatting it up more than usual and that opportunities for social (online and in-person) abound.  This transit definitely brings an increase in likelihood of a very fun and busy social calendar, which even if it isn’t ‘in person’ events, could take place through online gatherings or other virtual connections. Reconnecting with old friends, relatives, and acquaintances, or making new friends, are all more likely at this time.

Also, opportunities to improve your personal communication style to be more effective and productive could come up in a big way.  Any books, classes, or other resources on improving communication to create win-wins is very favorable now. 

The area lit up for you know also rules information: the taking in of it and the sharing of it. Anything notable in these areas are fair game to be brought into the forefront. Education and research projects are well-supported at this time.

Writing, editing, publishing, or other projects involving sharing information may come into focus now.  It is amazing time for editing, reworking, finishing projects already in process.

If you are due to upgrade your communication devices and modes of transportation (aka thinking of buying a new vehicle, phone, computer, etc.), the time towards the end of October and early November have more clear energy. If you have to make a purchase in the early parts of October, read paperwork more carefully and know that agreements and circumstances around them will likely shift soon. This time favors shorter-term agreements and contracts.

Things involving siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles (basically relatives that aren’t your parents or kids) may come into focus now from this transit. Don’t be surprised to have some notable contact from one of these relatives and if you have the urge to check in with one or more of them, following that urge may prove quite timely.  

The Sun’s transit here can show us things that have to be adjusted in a certain sector of life but alternatively can show us things that are great in that area and can bring wonderful opportunities.   

October 2021 continues our trek into the inward and backward focus of Mercury retrograde, whose pre-transit shadow period began around September 7. Mercury goes direct around October 18 and the post-transit shadow period clears around November 3. The time from around September 7 through early November brings focus to re-doing, re-vising, re-visiting, and anything that involves energies from the past. It is a fantastic time to wrap up unfinished projects to make room for the next open stars phase which begins in early November. You may notice the energy start clearing for the open phase for forward movement and clarity as we move through the second half of October.

Strong Libra influences bring the topic of partnerships and giving and receiving help, into the forefront. Mercury retrograde in Libra will bring up questions about relationships and/or things from the past coming up to be dealt with or enjoy.

Strong Scorpio energies add deeper dimensions to the relationship stories evolving now and also bring focus to shared finances, loans, debt, taxes, government or other support. The water sign brings high emotion and potentials for major psychological discoveries and healing.

Mercury retrograde dominating the month increases the likelihood of changes to plans, things that seemed set being called into question, miscommunications and electrical items breaking down but also opens great possibilities cleaning up unfinished business, fun blasts from the past, enhanced creativity, and surprise opportunities for fun. Try to leave some time unscheduled to make room for last-minute magic.

Jupiter turns direct this month and along with it, new information about and zest for international travel or other connections, languages, teaching, learning, writing, publishing and speaking may start to gain momentum. Jupiter moving direct can also facilitate finding solutions and can bring renewed hope and optimism.

Saturn also turns direct this month. Lots of factors, including this one this month, open up a time for great progress and advancement.

Eclipse rumblings begin in October as the eclipse ‘season’ of major change starts 4-6 weeks before the actual eclipses. The ending of the Sagittarius/Gemini eclipse cycle that started around March 2020 and runs through early January 2021 will bring a great wrap-up of the energies that started at that time. The new cycle of Taurus/Scorpio eclipses will start to show their trends and this runs from now through the end of 2023.
