Gemini – August 2020

The Sun brightens your 3rd house of mobility this month bringing a whirlwind of activity.  Keeping balance may be a bit tougher this month as your list of activities, events, and other projects builds.

The 3rd house rules travel so you may find yourself on the road more than usual or catching a plane, boat, train, or bus to adventures, obligations, or both. You also may find yourself not traveling but planning a future trip.

The Sun in this placement brings focus to your communication sector so you may find you are chatting it up more than usual and that opportunities for social (online and in-person) abound.  This transit definitely brings an increase in likelihood of a very fun and busy social calendar, which even if it isn’t ‘in person’ events, could take place through online gatherings or other virtual connections. Reconnecting with old friends, relatives, and acquaintances, or making new friends, are all more likely at this time.

Also, opportunities to improve your personal communication style to be more effective and productive could come up in a big way.  Any books, classes, or other resources on improving communication to create win-wins is very favorable now. 

The area lit up for you know also rules information: the taking in of it and the sharing of it. Anything notable in these areas are fair game to be brought into the forefront. Education and research projects are well-supported at this time.

Writing, editing, publishing, or other projects involving sharing information may come into focus now.  It is amazing time for editing, reworking, finishing projects already in process.

If you are due to upgrade your communication devices and modes of transportation (aka thinking of buying a new vehicle, phone, computer, etc.), this could be a great time for that. The first half of August is more free of the impending Mars retrograde energies (Mars rules metal and devices and cars have a lot of it!)  Be extra careful driving, biking, walking, or operating any heavy machinery this month.

Things involving siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles (basically relatives that aren’t your parents or kids) may come into focus now from this transit. Don’t be surprised to have some notable contact from one of these relatives and if you have the urge to check in with one or more of them, following that urge may prove quite timely.  

The Suns transit here can show us things that have to be adjusted in a certain sector of life but alternatively can show us things that are great in that area and can bring wonderful opportunities.   

We shift out of the heaviness, high emotion, and confusion of Venus and Mercury retrogrades and the eclipses by August. While some eclipse-related news may still come in, this month is more about finding “the new normal” in the world and in our individual experience. Many themes of home/housing/real estate/family/mother figures and work/employment/business/bosses/authority and father figures will have notable news and major wrap up now. 

This month will be awkward because of an abundance of 150° angle line-up’s with the stars and there are more than twice as many challenging aspects as sweet ones. But even so, Mars continuing direct movement through its native sign Aries will bring momentum and help gel into place options or new directions that came from the eclipses. Use well the momentum especially towards the earlier part of August as Mars will start to lose its thunder and shift into retrograde phase deeper daily through August until its official retrograde starting September 9 and going through November 14 (with the post-transit shadow period going into the beginning of 2021). (I still love best the time from July 22-28 for anything important: launches, big decisions, contracts, moves, and large purchases. It is the most clear will have the stars for things like this until the end of the year/early 2021).

Two fierce aspects involving Mars and Saturn, and Mars and Pluto, will bring Mars retrograde themes in with a bang. Be extra careful with life and limb this month. Understanding the energy of the impending Mars retro will help to direct you towards activities that will roll better with the themes of this time.
